25 facts for 25 years

This past Sunday I celebrated my 25th birthday and I decided I would share 25 facts about myself, you know, because in my ripe old age I may forget.
  1. I have a crush on my husband-shhh!
  2. I am a list person. I write everything I need to do for the day in my agenda or on my mirror with a dry erase marker, just so I can have the satisfaction of crossing it off when it's been completed.
  3. I try to talk or text my mom and dad everyday.
  4. I'm 5'10".
  5. When I was younger, I wanted to be Ariel from "The Little Mermaid" and would act out the part where she props herself on the rock singing "Part of Your World" (reprise). I didn't have a rock so I would use the couch, a stool, anything.
  6. The beach is my favorite place to be.
  7. I'm right handed.
  8. I hate sneezing, it freaks me out.
  9. Josh and I play an unofficial game while watching movies and television. If one of us needs to leave the room for whatever reason, we try and pause the show as the actors are speaking (we've found they make the best faces mid-sentence) and rank them. Josh does it the best, I'm a little envious.
  10. I won't eat green candy of any sort, I skip over it or give it to Josh. If we go to the movies, I pick all the green candy out beforehand so I don't accidentally eat it.
  11. I loved living in Biloxi, and I would go back in an instant.
  12. I don't have a comfort food, I have a comfort movie. In good times and bad, "Steel Magnolias" is always there for me.
  13. The thought of getting a paper cut terrifies me.
  14. For whatever reason, I can't pronounce Guantanamo (as in Guantanamo Bay). I don't know how I say it, but Josh giggles almost every time.
  15. I only like eating apples when it's fall.
  16. My favorite animal is an owl and it is reflected in a lot of the jewelry I wear. I have a lot of vintage pieces that I've collected over the years. I've liked my owl jewelry longer than the recent fad, but I appreciate it because it makes it much easier to expand my collection.
  17. The smell of cantaloupe makes me gag.
  18. I listen to Israel Kamakawiwo'ole almost daily.
  19. I like small towns better than big cities.
  20. Opening gifts in front of people makes me nervous. I'm afraid I won't give the reaction they're expecting. If someone takes the time to pick out a present to give to me, I should at least have the right response.
  21. Sunday afternoon naps are my favorite part of the week.
  22. I loved being pregnant. I had a wonderful experience that I will hopefully be able to repeat with any future children.
  23. I say supper not dinner.
  24. My go-to outfit is a pair of jeans, a plain tee or tank top with a cardigan over it (and some kind of owl accessory)
  25. Coffee has quickly become my one of favorite beverages, actually creamer with a little coffee is the way I like it.

Blackout Curtains

Thanks to the good ol' Air Force, Josh's work schedule has been rearranged for the second time in two weeks. He will now be working from midnight to 9, which means he'll be sleeping during the day. Before finding out that he would be switching to this lovely schedule, we decided it was finally time to buy some curtains for our room. We must've secretly known that he was going to be spending a good portion of his day sleeping because we ordered blackout curtains.

Best. Decision. Ever.

Talk about good timing. Josh's last day on the swing shift was yesterday, so last night we hung up our new curtains and prayed they were going to be good quality! I slept later than I usually do and Josh is still asleep and it's almost 2pm here! To be fair, I have no idea what time he ended up going to bed because this preggers crashed quickly, thanks to the newly darkened room.

Now to buy some for the Etcha's room!

This could be the pregnancy talking, or just random thoughts

Josh is working nights for the rest of the week, so I had a little extra time on my hands to do some pondering and this is what I came up with:

I really enjoy the show Reba, I forgot how funny it is!

This is exciting, at least to me, I think I’m starting to get a baby bump!!! As a result, my pants aren’t fitting the way they should, and I’m not quite ready for maternity pants. Thank God for sweatpants!!!

Crunch Berries are amazing; I can’t get enough of them!

German toilets are weird, they have a stop nozzle, and no matter where you go the flusher on every toilet is different. Some toilets are even self-cleaning!
I kid you not the big button is for "heavier things" and the small button is for "lighter things." All so you don't waste water.

I can’t wait until we move into our new home next week.
1. Because I want my clothes (that will still fit) back
2. My bed, my oh-so-comfortable bed
3. I’m ready for space that this hotel room is lacking
4. This room doesn’t have a bathtub, and I’d like to take a nice bath

Crangrape is my favorite juice!

I loved the movie Juno before I was pregnant and now it has a whole new meaning and appreciation for me!

Ice water has never tasted better to me!

Thanks Mom for the boots you bought me when we were home they have become the most comfortable pair of shoes I own currently!

I learned that if you ask a German how they are doing, they will tell you…in detail so don’t ask if you don’t really care but if they ask you feel free to tell them exactly what’s on your mind

On a similar note, I found out that if you are one of those people who like to block the aisle by standing in the middle or talking to someone else therefore blocking the way completely, a German is likely to GROWL at you and if that doesn’t work they will push past you and you will receive the stink eye as they go by. Beware, just beware!

I’m obsessed with looking at baby names, so many options!

I watched a professional bocce ball tournament on Euro Sports, it was intense!

I can’t wait to have American outlets again! At least that’s in the near future, gotta love base housing!!!

Well that’s pretty much it for me today, who knows what I’ll post tomorrow! Have a great day everyone!
